Packing a dive bag that actually works

The eternal problem with dive kit is that half of it is wet and all of it is heavy. A roomy duffle beats a rigid case for most travel — it squashes into a boat's limited storage, and a soft shell forgives an overpacked regulator bag. Our advice: wet gear in its own dry-bag liner inside the duffle, heavy items low and centred, mask in a hard case near the top where nothing can crush it. Finish the kit with a packable scuba diving hat for the deck.
